Repair or replace? How to think about an aging roof

[Demo article — edit or replace.]
Roofs rarely fail all at once. Before deciding to replace, look at how old the roof is, whether problems are isolated or spread across slopes, and how long you plan to stay in the home.
Isolated issues like a cracked pipe boot or a few blown-off shingles are usually repairs. Widespread granule loss, curling, or repeated leaks in different places point toward replacement.
An inspection with photos lets you see the condition yourself and make the call with real information.
